Parsons College

Parsons College was started in Veal's Station as the Texas Masonic Institute on Jan. 2, 1860.  William G. Veal, associates and successors, first ran the school.  The Methodist Church lator ran the school, then B. W. Akard.  Then it became the Presbyterian school named Parsons College.

The following comments were made by Ida Turner (Mrs. Rice S. Tipton) in her memoirs. Thank you, Helen Sills, for donating this material.
