Parsons College
Parsons College was started in Veal's Station as the Texas
Masonic Institute on Jan. 2, 1860. William G. Veal, associates
and successors, first ran the school. The Methodist Church
lator ran the school, then B. W. Akard. Then it became the
Presbyterian school named Parsons College.
