A listing for Odie Simmons in the 1930 Parker County, Texas census indicates she is an inmate in the K of P Home. Can someone explain what this residence was?
Kof P is probably Knights of Pythias Widows and Orphans home in Weatherford, TX. The cornerstone was laid in 1907 and it was finished 2 years later. At first all children admitted to the home had to be children of a Pythian father and be sponsored by a Pythian Lodge. This was later changed so that any child sponsored by a Pythian Lodge could be admitted provided they meet certain other requirements. A postcard of the home can be found at:

I am looking for any information about the siblings of my grandmother, Emma Pearl Davis Woodard. She and her siblings, James Ford, Charlotte, and Ella Beatrice Davis were born in Whitt between 1889-1895. Their mother was Rachel Malinda Smith Davis. Their father,John C. Davis, was a missionary in Indian Territory, Oklahoma. He died there in March, 1895, and Rachel moved back to Whitt with her children and lived with the James D. Leigh family. Rachel was declared mentally incompetent in 1897 and the children were sent to the Buckner Orphans Home in Dallas. Please email me with any info you might have at barbaraharris2@comcast.net.

I am trying to find information on my great great grandparents, Samuel and Sarah Page Bailey who lived in Parker County prior to the 1880 census through at least 1882 when my great grandmother, Susan Samantha Bailey, was born. I really don't know much about this part of my family. I know Samuel and Sarah showed up on the 1880 parker County Census with 2 sons, but this is all I have to go on. If any one has any information you could share with me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
